1. APSC CCE Domicile Condition & Nationality

You must be an Indian Citizen and an original inhabitant of Assam. This means:

  • You must have been born in Assam, OR
  • You must have resided in Assam for a substantial period with valid proof

Additionally, you must be able to speak Assamese or any other official language or associate official language or tribal language of Assam. This is a language proficiency condition, not a written exam requirement.


2. APSC CCE Education Qualification

Minimum: Graduation (Bachelor’s Degree) in any discipline from a university recognised by the UGC or competent authority.

Key points:

  • Discipline does not matter — Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, any stream qualifies
  • The degree must be completed before the date of submitting the application
  • Candidates in their final year of graduation are NOT eligible to apply

4. Employment Exchange Registration

This is a mandatory condition that many candidates overlook. You must be registered at a District Employment Office in Assam at the time of applying. If you are not registered, do this immediately at your nearest District Employment Exchange.


5. Small Family Norms

Candidates must submit a declaration in Form-A regarding compliance with Small Family Norms at the time of applying. This is a standard requirement for Assam Government recruitment.


6. Post-Wise Additional Conditions

Some posts under APSC CCE have additional eligibility requirements beyond the general conditions:

  • Assam Police Service (Jr. Grade): Candidates must meet physical fitness standards. Details are in the official notification.
